Frequently Asked Questions
How does a video-call only community work?
Cohort meetings and other events are all held on Zoom. Email is used solely for sending out event invites and administering your subscription.
What is a Cohort?
A Cohort is a long-term small group designed to foster a consistent tight-knit group where deep connections are formed. Currently, there is only one Cohort in each community. As we grow, there will be multiple Cohorts so we can scale the communities while retaining the consistent small-group model.
How big is a Cohort?
Our Cohort sizes are based on a 'Dynamic 20' concept. This means each Cohort will accept new members until each call has around 20 people. At this point, a new Cohort will commence for new members. So in the early stages, a Cohort will be much smaller, but as it fills up calls will grow to around 20 people.
Why video call only?
Many people struggle with an overload of notifications and FOMO about keeping up with text-based chats. The goal of our Cohort communities is to maximise opportunities for genuine connection without adding to the FOMO and constant notifications.
Can I meet members from other Cohorts and communities within the HCLB ecosystem?
Yes. Our events program outside the core Cohort calls provides opportunities to meet members from all our communities.
